Renewable Energy Certificates are a simple and cost-effective way to offset the negative impacts of the power you use and consume from conventional generation sources. In fact, it’s much easier and less expensive than solar panels and other forms of distributed energy.
When fossil fuels are used to generate electricity, harmful greenhouse gases are emitted into the atmosphere. But electricity generated or produced from renewable energy sources does not have a negative impact on the environment and can lessen the need for power generated from conventional sources, like fossil fuels. The positive environmental attributes associated with electricity generated from renewable energy sources are sold as renewable energy certificates, or RECs. Why are LED lights better than incandescent lighting? Because they are so durable and long lasting. Most light bulbs have a life expectancy that is rated at approximately 2000 hours of usage. In many cases those light bulbs will fail well before those 2000 hours have passed. This is mostly due to the fact that the filaments cannot withstand electric fluctuations, such as those which occur when the light switch is flipped. LED lights do not need time to cycle or warm up, they light instantly, for this reason, and the fact that they do not get hot, they are rated at about 100,000. LED lights are also much more durable than other light bulbs and are nowhere near as breakable.

The question shouldnt be Why are LED lights better? it should be Why hasnt everyone taken advantage of all these benefits by now?
LED stands for light emitting diode. LED lighting products produce light approximately 90% more efficiently than incandescent light bulbs. How do they work? An electrical current passes through a microchip, which illuminates the tiny light sources we call LEDs and the result is visible light. To prevent performance issues, the heat LEDs produce is absorbed into a heat sink.
